I am just finishing up my certificate program for web design and I want to start my own freelance business. I am a bit confused about how much to charge. There seems to be a wide range of fees. The services I would provide would be very basic at this point in time (until I gain more experience). The sites I plan on making would be catered towards a small business which wants to advertise on the web. The sites would NOT include a shopping cart or any flash at this time. It will have images, links…

Okay, so, I'm reading Urban Tulsa Weekly and I see this little bitty article about Leadership Tulsa. Seems a "futurist" is going to be the keynote presenter and present his predictions and such. Then there will be more meetings for Tulsa leaders to respond to the predictions. I find this idea intriguing......a man who holds a masters in future studies. How do you get a grade in that....do you make predictions, wait a specific length of time, and then receive a grade on the degree of accuracy to…

Bad part is that it's my own!! I'm doing this "learning visual basic" on my own thing and I'm totally over my head...I have to find resources to explain my resources to me and then I run into something else the in the new resource that I don't understand and have to seek out more answers! I need to find something step-by-step for a total baby and hope that I can get through this. I'm so lost....

Below is an email interaction I had with Lookery and then with Rockyou. I am still awaiting responses from Slide. I hope this helps clear some questions up....Did i sound unfair in my questions? I don't want to sound bias but one side has a little bit more personable Customer Service.
Lookery
Rex
I have been getting feedback that the most I could expect is the minimum?
Is this true? If so what is the value of utilizing Lookery over other
providers who may payout as much at .35+ cents.
Thanks-…

Oh the time-suck that is life and start-ups. We are looking to launch product on the 27th of April. Everyone here with a facebook account will be formally invited to the beta. I did want to take some time to lament about a discussion I had with a Venture Group in Tulsa. They are "focused on bringing technology and helping start-ups in Tulsa" Tell me what you think about this discussion.
Optimistic me: Facebook and other social networking sites are allowing developers and start-ups to capitaliz…

Facebook is to Developers what eBay is to Power Sellers
(Great Blog Post!) Thanks LEE
Facebook is the Perfect Path to Profits for the Pluckiest Programmers on the Planet
EBay’s genesis story relates how Pierre Omidyar’s passion for his girlfriend led to the creation of the planet’s first person-to-person marketplace for purchasing Pez dispensers. Although this story is not true, it does capture the essence of eBay’s earliest usage as a way to find/buy/sell just about anything from broken lase…

Attention Everyone Tulsa Technocrats popularity has caused Yahoo owned corporation Flickr to take notice and share its API with us. Let's all take some time pat ourselves on that backs and wonder why more people in Tulsa aren't interested in cool things like twitter and ning.

So there is a Green Country based Start-up called Zigbeef. Apparently they use RFID to track cattle through shoots. I learned on my daily call with Karl Rove today that the Homeland Security agency is currently checking its capability to utilized this technology to track brown people and older feminist, such as Diane Feinstein. This may just be a rumor. However this is a technology that could put Tulsa on the Map! Should this be the technological type to put Tulsa on the map? Should we share thi…

Well, here I am making my first entry. Site seems cool, lots of interesting people, interesting information being shared. Since I'm not a programmer, a lot of it is wayyyyyy over my head but that's okay. I signed up for a course in Visual Basic, that should be VERY interesting. My latest effort at stretching myself in a new direction. We'll see how well it goes. I'm looking forward to it, anyway. The idea that brought me here? Could Tulsa be another Silicon Valley? Why not?

Sitting working on analytics of Icontsi, I am hit with a sense of wonderment. How did San Jose become what it is, and Palo Alto? How did Austin become what it is today?
Fate? - some predetermination from an Almighty Being?
Could it have been a conscious decision of city Elders working in conjunction with the best and brightest of Nextgens.
Think about this:
Tulsa Metro Resources
Multiple Technological Trade Schools
University that is heavily recruited by DOD and Homeland security for C…

I was discussing this with some buddies the other evening over a beer. It seems like if you have an idea that isn't about cattle, oil, or cattle oil you can't get funding. I want to see this change. Honestly though, Tulsa presently doesn't have a ton of resources to put towards this. Unless we come together in a more grandeur scale we will continue to lose precious resources to other cities. Which I think is bullshit. I appreciate groups like The Tulsa Ruby Group and others. These guys are reall…
